Transformation of traditional to modern school
Súkromná stredná umelecká škola animovanej tvorby
school of third millenium
Modern education for the knowledge society/The project is co-financed from EU funds

The aim of this project is to improve and modernize education in specialization with the help of multimedia materials, to increase motivational element and unify the form of education. Other aims are the increase of teachers´ qualifications, the increase of interest in given subject and strengthening of education and computer literacy of students. The project is focused on secondary school students of art schools as well as other students with given subject.
The project, primary or secondary, comes out of demands, which are result of fast transformation of our society into the informative society. The fast development of technologies and related development of informatics, media and a new attitude to information (receiving and giving information) requires a new way of thinking and acting by people. Mostly it is influenced with insufficient literacy in the area of informatics as well as in different areas, which are typical for developing industries. The realization of the project is set up to be efficient tool for all interested. It should serve to better understanding and consecutive acceptance of new methods and knowledge. The project is not limited just as educational and didactic aid for students of secondary schools. Set-up is universal and it can serve in other specializations of educational system in like manner. The reason of choice, which led us to combination of classical form of education and to education with the help of multimedia textbooks is a worldwide trend, which should be implemented in our educational system. This method of education is for a teacher much more practical as classical education through books, more attractive for students and more interactive. A student can modify his time of education to certain extent.

Multimedia textbook of History of art and culture

Today there is no uniform textbook of History of art and culture for secondary schools. Teachers prepare their own materials. They process image and text documents from expert publications, scan form magazines, books and Internet encyclopedias. The best procession of this subject is his digitalization because it contains a lot of image information. It is possible to present students thus prepared materials by high-scope projection in interesting way. Students adapt the subject by visual experience. Today teachers still use verbal interpretation and examples form expert literature. Revision is very difficult because neither student nor teacher has time to return to treated topic and we lose unique possibility of multiple revision and deeper understanding of the subject. Every teacher generally uses his own literature and he can´t illustrate his subject enough in case of lack of his image material. We assume that the book created in digital form will be available of unlimited number of user. These book texts and image material might be used for interactive attitude in educational process, so called eLearning – electronic teaching. Suitably processed learning material might be available in the Internet form enabling access to given issue to general public not only to students.

A multimedia textbook History cartoons

The project aim is to create a multimedia textbook of history of animated film, which in this form in Slovakia is missing. Students of art schools would have the opportunity to draw a comprehensive knowledge of the history of animated film through this textbook, which could be used not only in secondary schools, but also in further study at the university and in their professional life.
We plan to start working on a multimedia textbook in the year 2013.
Internet sound and picture library
Database of sound and picture files are hard to get from their owners, many times you have to pay for download. Sound database would serve to students of our school and to general public. It could be constantly completed by new sound files and pictures (material structures for computer modeling).
Further teachers education
At present, very often resembles so called knowledge economy, which in practice means that it is necessary in the educational process at schools of all levels to seek such methodological and teaching practices, that allow teachers and students to capture rapid progress in the field of IT. Our aim is to focus on graphics systems, which are one of the most current IT applications.
In order to ensure further development of our teachers, our school also engaged in a project Modernizácia vzdelávacieho procesu (Modernization of the educational process) in which teacher education is carried out through regular courses in the length of 2-4 months. The main project objective is to improve learning through the involvement of modern technologies into teaching and to train teachers to actively implement educational reform of the educational system adapting to knowledge society.

INTERAKTÍVNE PROJEKTY
1. WE ARE ONE BODY - Sme jedno telo

The world is like a big skyscraper, it has an infinite number of windows and behind every window, there is a person with various interests, traits, desires… We are different, however, we are similar, too. There is something that joins us all. Every window is an expression of individual peculiarities of an individual with a powerful declaration of his personal and mental confession in the contrast with a final co-awareness and uniting in the same idea – humanity.

Every window is only a part of the knowledge – together we make one unit, one body.

How people grasp the topic WE ARE ONE BODY as well as the particular conducting of a story, which will be original for every country – different for behind each window – it is up to every participant of the project.

What will be interesting, that is the final joining of all the works on the given topic from every participant country into one film unit.

We emphasise:

- communication among individual kinds of arts, their mutual combining through music, dance, dramatization, animation…
- combining music and performing arts (dance/drama) with dynamic artistic creation within the area of hand drawing, classical and computer animation
- using CD decorations in theatre scenes and thus creating possibilities to use spatial, moving backgrounds as well as possibilities of communication of an actor with a created figure in a computer and their mutual overlapping.
2. CHILDREN CRUSADE
Detské krížiacke výpravy - Unsaid words

The whole project is a sequence of images from the works (or from their details) of our students following each other. Even though they are independent to each other, they create a consistent story line, based on mental or dimensional associations between neighbouring images.

Although the whole work creates integrated unit, mentaly it is based more on the internal disparity without any obvious or “forcing” educative aim. It is much more understood as a challenge. That final image or sequence of images has to be created by the spectator himself in his own head after viewing the project.

The whole work includes in itself European pictural world as well as the written, oriental one. Motto of the work is the human, but it doesn’t contain the exact shape of human. Human is present only in his works (pictures), in his squeezes, in his streaks, or in the ambition of human to show and to sculpture.

As once upon a time of children crusade, when they tried to show Christian children in Orient, we are also trying to show our children in this project. But we are not trying to show the concrete students, but to show their hearts, their creative struggle.

Unlike the children crusade we are not trying to persuade somebody, that our point of view is the only right. We just want by means of the works of our students to show our school as a tool of wakening and improving of the creative powers of young people, who will form our future (and let’s hope that more beautiful) world.

NET-MUSIC
The aim of the project is a creative work with sound, introduction of digital sound procession with intention of active participation on sound composition, creation of music collage, call-sign, and remixes. Also our aim is to create collaboration between schools, who took part in the project. Partial aim was to draw attention to noise as a stress factor and explain connection between acoustic impulses and man reactions. (Biofeedback)
Realisation:
We acquired basic project documents and instructions for leading the project after addressing Mr. Graf. Preparation of our students was realized in May, June and September 2007. Students were gradually acquainted with basic aims of the project. Students were taught to the bases of digital music during the classes of film sound dramaturgy. This knowledge served as a base at final workshop. Final workshop took part on 11.10.2007 from 8.50 to 11.25 attended by 24 students. Workshop was an introduction to the world of sound, which hides a lot of attractions on the level of psychoacoustic impulses. Students could penetrate into different sphere of sound from that commercial, which is presented everywhere around us. Students received a lot of impulses of creative attitude towards sound and music. They could try on digital work with sound in the program AUDACITY.
Results: Student's works, which will be worked out on the base of this project, will be published on preparing Internet page www.net-music.at by Mr. Richard Graf. The best of them will be broadcast on the Internet radio. Realization of the project at our school widened students the scope at perception and procession of music. The project motivated a creative attitude to individual music production and its application in audiovisual works and animations, and on the Internet.

Erasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. Education, training, youth and sport can make a major contribution to help tackle socio-economic changes, the key challenges that Europe will be facing until the end of the decade and to support the implementation of the European policy agenda for growth, jobs, equity and social inclusion.
Fighting rising levels of unemployment -particularly among young people -has become one of the most urgent tasks for European governments. Too many young people leave school prematurely running a high risk of being unemployed and socially marginalised. The same risk threatens many adults with low skills. Technologies are changing the way in which society operates, and there is a need to ensure the best use is made of them. EU businesses need to become more competitive through talent and innovation.
